Poppy Card - August Birth Flower

£2.50

These stunning red flowers are a common sight across the UK. While the Poppy comes in many colours, the most vibrant and filled with meaning is the Red Corn Poppy. With its significance associated with Remembrance Day , it could be though that it may be a November flower, but it is August through and through.

Along with meanings of remembrance, it was also the flower of the Greek Goddess Demeter, who was the goddess of Agriculture, and with August being the prime time to harvest crops you see how it connects with this summer month.

A6 Greeting Card of an original watercolour painting. This is painted and printed on Recycled Paper in my studio in West Yorkshire.
